Biography

Following the success of the Bob Dylan single "Rainy Day Women, " producer Bob Johnston got together the core of Dylan's band from the Blonde On Blonde sessions in Nashville and recorded one album comprised of versions of various rock and r&b standards and hits. Al Kooper didn't participate, nor did people from the Band (who were essentially guest musicians), but it's likely that Joe South (guitar), Bill Atkins (keyboards), Wayne Butler (trombone), Paul Griifin (piano), Ken Buttrey (drums), Jerry Kennedy (guitar), Wayne Moss (guitar), Hargus "Pig" Robbins (piano), and Charlie McCoy (bass, guitar, trumpet, harmonica) were aboard somewhere on their one-shot outting, one of the most obscure of all Columbia rock albums of the mid-1960's. The record is an odd offshoot of Dylan's success and recording history. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
