Biography

With influences ranging from doom titans Saint Vitus and Sleep to obligatory genre originators Black Sabbath, California doom outfit Cold Mourning evolved in 1992 from an earlier band named Cremation (originally formed in 1986). Their first demo came two years later, followed by a split record with Holland's Officium Triste, a split 7" single with While Heaven Wept, and, in 1999, an appearance on the At the Mountains of Madness compilation. The year 2000 finally saw the release of Cold Mourning's debut album, entitled Lower Than Low, with the band consisting of Mat Bilac (vocals/guitars), Angelo Tringali (lead guitar), Bruce Blankenship (bass), and U.A. (drums) at this point. But then came silence...nothing has been heard from them since. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
