Review

With her soulful perspective and rhythmically shifting melodies, Laura Nyro at her best was in class of her own as a songwriter. This brief, ten-song set has some of her early classics, including "Wedding Bell Blues," "Stoned Soul Picnic," "Eli's Coming," and "New York Tendaberry," but it's really too short to be much more than a stopgap introduction to this amazing songwriter and singer. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
