Come Down Heavy

Album Review: Come Down Heavy

Review

Like countless other English rock bands of the late '80s, Thee Hypnotics made a conscious decision to play with fashion and fad, resulting in an overblown metal album, Come Down Heavy. Sounding more like the macho rock of The Cult than the band's main influences, The Stones and the Stooges, Thee Hypnotics trudge through dome-stadium theatrics that dull the ears with their careful decentness. At least the band performs with a modicum of technical ability. ~ Matt Carlson, All Music Guide
