This highly original CD is one of those cross-category musical experiences, a netherworld of avant-garde song-form jazz (like some 1960s ESP groups) and laid-back non-tonal improvisation, that it is truly something different and should be mentioned here. With Suzanne Langille (vocals), Loren Mazzacane (guitar), Brian Johnson (percussion), and the remarkable playing of George Cartwright (tenor sax), the selections -- many of which are solely instrumental -- proceed through the bardos of conscious and pre-conscious worlds with contained emotion.
