Compagnie de Fives-Lille can equip virtually any business. The company, which specializes in thermal and mechanical equipment, makes industrial machinery for the aluminum, automotive, cement, energy, glass, steel, and sugar industries. The manufacturing and installation of industrial equipment accounts for the majority of sales. Financiere Alexandre III, part of the Industri Kapital private equity firm, took Fives-Lille private in 2001. Industri Kapital sold the Fives-Lille Group in 2004 to Barclays Private Equity France and the group's management. In 2005 Fives-Lille acquired assets of the Landis Grinding Systems business from UNOVA (which later changed its name to Intermec) for $79 million.
