"Consequences" is the eighth episode in the third season of the American crime drama CSI: NY. The episode first aired on November 8, 2006.
Plot
A professional paint ball player is found dead from a gunshot in a warehouse. The guard discovered him when he found the gates open. The bullet had pierced a hot air balloon for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade that was being stored in the warehouse, so Mac and Danny take it apart to find the bullet. The paintball paint traces Stella finds seem to lead nowhere. Their case isn’t helped much as the residents of the apartments next door are either ignorant about what happened or uncooperative. Lindsay and Adam’s lab results determine that the residue Stella found with the paint is cocaine. Mac suspects the dead man, Kym Tanaka, could have found himself in the middle of a drug trafficking deal gone wrong. Don comes under suspicion when Mac discovers that there was cocaine left behind in the warehouse where Don had conducted a drug bust previously. He claims that all 50kg of drugs were confiscated but gets defensive when Mac asks him about the possibility of one his men stealing some of it. The case gets even more awry when the bullet is matched to a NYPD standard issued weapon, meaning that one of Don’s men was at the scene of the crime.
In the beginning, Stella tells Mac that she feels like she is being followed around by someone every since she dropped off a gift at Mac’s house.
