(′kän·sər′vā·shən əv ′par·əd·ē)

(quantum mechanics) The law that, if the wave function describing the initial state of a system has even (odd) parity, the wave function describing the final state has even (odd) parity; it is violated by the weak interactions. Also known as parity conservation.
