Biography

Consuelo Velázquez is the songwriter and lyricist of the Latin standard "Besame Mucho," as well as "Amar y Vivir," "Verdad Amarga," and "Franqueza." Though the Spanish lyric on "Besame Mucho" was changed into English by Sunny Skylar, the song has been performed by artists including the Beatles, the Flamingos, Nat "King" Cole, Xavier Cugat, and the Ventures. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
