Conterminous United States, that is, the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia. The federal per diem rate for lodging, meals, and incidental expenses for a given locality is a combined maximum rate equal to the sum of the maximum lodging amount and the meals and incidental expenses (M&IE) rate for such locality.   • c. arteriosus — the funnel-shaped portion of the right ventricle of the heart at the entrance to the pulmonary trunk.
  • c. medullaris — the cone-shaped caudal end of the spinal cord; found at the level of the upper lumbar vertebrae in the human spine, but more caudally in domestic animals.
