convenience occlusion

The assumed position of maximum inter-cuspation when there is occlusal interference in the centric path of closure. The convenience occlusion may be anterior, lateral, or anterolateral to the true centric occlusion. Also called convenience jaw relation and convenience relationship of teeth.
