cooperative mailing

Marketing Dictionary: cooperative mailing

Promotional mailing shared by several noncompetitive advertisers who target the same audience and are thus able to reduce mailing costs; also called co-op mailing. An example of a co-op mailing is the Carol Wright package of coupons sent out by Donnelley Marketing. Co-op mailings are growing in usage, particularly in business-to-business advertising. See also card pack; joint mailing.
