Cornelia Goethe

Goethe, Cornelia (Frankfurt/Main, 1750-77, Emmendingen, Baden), was the younger sister of J. W. Goethe, and the chief companion of his childhood. She was married in 1773 to J. G. Schlosser, magistrate in Emmendingen, Baden. The marriage was not happy. Her early death was a great shock for her brother. In 1777 Cornelia and her husband befriended J. M. R. Lenz.
