Earliest cricket
Cricket probably reached Cornwall during the 18th century, possibly sooner and a county organisation is known to have existed in 1813 (see Bowen) and this is the earliest reference to cricket in the county.
Origin and history of CCC
The present Cornwall CCC was founded on 12 November 1894 and first competed in the Minor Counties Championship in 1904, appearing every year since with the exception of 1920. Cornwall has never won the Minor Counties Championship; nor the MCCA Knockout Trophy since its inception in 1983.
