A COROP-region is a regional area within the Netherlands. These regions are used for analytical purposes by, among others, Statistics Netherlands. The Dutch abbreviation stands for Coördinatie Commissie Regionaal Onderzoeks Programma, literally the Coordination Commission Regional Research Programme.
