Corton is a coastal village in Suffolk, located a few miles to the North of Lowestoft.

History

Its main industry is catering for the seaside holiday maker, as demonstrated by the residential holiday parks and Leisure parks situated there.

Corton's beaches are located along the base of a line of cliffs, which are suffering gradual erosion. Recent sea defences to protect the crumbling cliffs at Broadland Sands Holiday Park have cut a two mile stretch of beach off from the sea[citation needed] The cliffs at Corton have been an important source of fossil remains and geological information[citation needed]

Corton Beach was popular as a naturist enclave. A new naturist section has been opened on the section of the beach south of the village, towards Lowestoft.

Corton is located towards the North of Lowestoft.
