Cosan has found the sweet spot in the sugarcane, ethanol, and sugar triangle. Planting on about 572,000 hectares, the company is one of the largest growers and processors of sugarcane in the world. It crushed some 40 million tons of cane in fiscal 2008. Cosan turns its harvest into raw and refined sugar products for human consumption and industrial use. In addition, Cosan is the largest ethanol producer in Brazil; in 2008 it manufactured more than 400 million gallons of ethanol for both domestic and foreign customers.
