Late 13th-c. allegorical poem by Mahieu le Poirier (4, 430 lines: start missing). In Love's castle a narrator attends an eight-day hearing of 32 amatory grievances. The God of Love's bailiff and 12 peers (e.g. Biau Parler) pass judgement despite partly successful attempts by Dame Envie to disrupt proceedings. There is also an Occitan version.

[Peter Davies]
