Craig Rivet (Born September 13, 1974 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who plays for the San Jose Sharks in the National Hockey League. He was an alternate captain of the Canadiens (along with Sheldon Souray) during 2006-07. He is also great friends with Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu. He is married to Krista and has a daughter, Ella and a son, Nathan. On February 25, 2007, Craig Rivet was traded to the San Jose Sharks alongside a 2008 fifth round pick for Josh Gorges and a 2007 first round pick.

In June 2007, before he became an unrestricted free agent, Rivet extended his contract with the Sharks, stating how much he liked San Jose. The contract expires in June 2011 and will pay Rivet approximately US$3,500,000 per year.
