Crellin is an unincorporated community in Garrett County, Maryland, United States.[1]

History of Crellin
Crellin was founded in the early 1800's named Small Meadows with a school named School Number 13 with 13 kids in grades 2-5.Crellin then turned into a double boom town with the first boom being a saw mill and the second being a coal mine until 1923 when everything closed down and the lumber company(Kendall Lumber Company)burned down and the coal lost the supply of the coal dissapeered.Then the leftover coal was dumped on the ground and when it rained it caused AMD(Acid Mine Drainage)in Snowy Creek until 2003 when Crellin School formed a explorers club and went down for the first time and looked at the orange coal filled creek and cleaned it by building a vernal pool and 2 Treatment ponds and the treatment ponds were filled with limestone and this operation wasn't finished until 2006 when yet another project was started to rebuild a new playground named Crellin's Double Boom layground being based on the old crellin coal mine,school number 13 and the sawmill and the B&O railroad Crellin school began taking feild trips all over Maryland including a trip to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and a trip to Smith Island the student's in 5th grade at crellin in 2009 are:Seth Adams,Luke Riley,Jasmine Corby,Nichole Snyder,George Zimmerman,Destiny Shayhan,Macey Walker,Alexis Spiker,Samuel Burns and Alex Butina.
