Having fought his own battles with drugs and alcohol, Eric Clapton figured a beautiful, secluded location might make such work easier. He founded the Crossroads Centre, Antigua, a not-for-profit organization that provides four and six-week programs for drug, alcohol, and other addictive behavior rehabilitation treatment services at its 30-bed residential facility in the West Indies. While Clapton started the treatment center in part to treat locals, about 75% of Crossroads clients come from the US. A foundation in the UK helps support Crossroads financially.
