Thawing a cryonics patient cannot legally be considered murder
because only people who are legally dead can be cryonically
preserved. But cryonics patients are being cryopreserved because of
the possibility that future medicine can cure their diseases,
rejuvenate them to a youthful condition, and undo any damage that
was done during the cryopreservation process. If technology
advances as cryonics advocates hope, and cryonics patients can be
revived in the future, then thawing a cryonics patient will come to
be considered murder.
