Comcast SportsNet Washington (CSN Washington) is a regional sports network in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It is owned by Comcast and is a member of the Comcast SportsNet.
It was founded in 1984 as Home Team Sports (HTS), one of the first regional sports networks. It was partly owned by CBS. Comcast acquired the network in early 2001 and rebranded it as Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic on April 4 of that year. In August 2009, the network was again rebranded as Comcast SportsNet Washington.
CSN Washington, along with its other Comcast SportsNet branded networks, was revamped with a new logo and graphics package on October 1, 2008.

CSN Washington televises most games of the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, Major League Soccer's DC United, and Major League Lacrosse's Washington Bayhawks. CSN Washington also carries the NFL's Washington Redskins pregame and postgame shows. The network has rights to college games from the ACC and Colonial Athletic Association and coaches shows from Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland, College Park.
Other programming includes Redskins Nation and is broadcast from Redskins Park in Ashburn, Virginia, a talk show called Washington Post Live which airs on weekdays and SportsNite, a highlight show which airs three times each night. CSN Washington Plus
CSN Washington also has an overflow sports feed named CSN Washington Plus (CSN Washington+) that broadcasts select Wizards, Capitals, DC United, and ACC basketball games. It is only used when two games run simultaneously. CSN+ is carried by DirecTV and Dish Network and most cable companies in the region. Currently, Verizon FiOS carries CSN Washington+ in the DC Metro area from Montgomery County, MD to Fredericksburg, VA. While Verizon carries CSN Washington and CSN Washington HD throughout its footprint, it lacks CSN Washington+ outside of the DC Metro area. This has prompted customer complaints and posts on Verizon's forums demanding that the company add CSN Washington+ to all of its systems within the footprint. So far, Verizon has given no response, and there is no indication that CSN Washington+ will be added to areas where it is currently unavailable.[1]
CSN Washington HD
CSN Washington also has a 1080i high-definition feed named Comcast SportsNet Washington HD. All home games and select road games of the Wizards, Capitals, and DC United are shown in HD, along with certain shows like Redskins Nation, Washington Post Live and SportsNite. CSN+ also has an HD feed.
In addition, CSN Washington HD also airs select college football and basketball games produced by FSN in HD.
