US Military Dictionary: Cuvier Grover

Grover, Cuvier (1828-85) Union army officer, born in Bethel, Maine. Grover was repeatedly recognized for gallantry in leading his troops, from his first experience at Williamsburg (1862) through the Shenandoah Valley Campaign and the Battle of Cedar Creek (1864). Grover, a career soldier, served in a variety of peacetime posts both before and after the Civil War.
