Cynthia

Cynthia, Cynthius, epithets given to the Greek deities Artemis (equivalent to the Roman Diana) and Apollo, derived from Mount Cynthus in their native island of Delos. ‘Cynthia’ was the name given by the Roman poet Propertius to his mistress (compare Lesbia, the object of Catullus' love poems, named from the island of Lesbos, and Delia).
