Dictionary of Dance: Cyril Swinson

Swinson, Cyril (b London, 1910, d St Albans, 3 Jan. 1963). British publisher and writer. As a director of A. & C. Black, London, he encouraged the company to publish many important dance books in England and America. He was also associate editor of Ballet Annual for seventeen years, and author, sometimes under the pen-names of Joseph Sandon or Hugh Fisher, of several books, including The Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet (London, 1956) and several volumes in the series Dancers of Today.
