Abbreviation for "doing business as." Trade name. For example, if William and Lorna Scott are doing business under the name of Scott's Hockey Supplies and a lawsuit is brought, its caption might read Robert Michael v. William and Lorna Scott D.B.A. Scott's Hockey Supplies.
