The D.C. Lottery (official name District of Columbia Lottery & Charitable Games Control Board) is run by the city of Washington, the capital of the U.S. It is a charter member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). Games offered include Powerball, DC Daily 6, DC-5, DC-4, Keno, and numerous scratch tickets.
The D.C. Lottery began in 1982.
All D.C. Lottery games can be played by those at least 18 years of age.

DC Lucky Numbers
DC Lucky Numbers is a Pick 3 game drawn twice daily
DC-4
DC-4 is a Pick 4 game drawn twice daily.
DC-5
DC-5 is a game drawn twice daily in the style of Pick 3 and Pick 4, with straight and box wagers. It is played in the same manner as Pennsylvania's Quinto.
Di$trict Dollars
On November 18, 2009, the D.C. Lottery launched a raffle game called Di$trict Dollars. It is drawn on Wednesday mornings. Di$trict Dollars tickets cost $1 each, and can be purchased until the night before the drawing. Ticket numbers range from 00001 – 40000, and automatically generated at the time of purchase. Di$trict Dollars has 16 winners per week among 3 prize levels.
DC Daily 6
DC Daily 6 is drawn daily. It draws from 39 numbers; then a bonus number is drawn from the remaining 33. The Bonus Ball does not apply to the top prize, which is $250,000. Tickets are two plays for $1.
D.C. Keno
D.C. Keno drawings are every 4 minutes from 6AM to 1AM daily. The highest prize is $100,000 for match 10 of the 20 numbers drawn. This game can be played at a lottery retailer that has a D.C. Keno.
Hot Lotto (multi-lottery game)
Hot Lotto, a MUSL game (see Powerball below) is currently played in more than a dozen lotteries, including D.C., and is drawn Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hot Lotto draws 5 white numbers from 1 to 39 and 1 orange number from 1 to 19. The jackpots start at $1 million and increase by $50,000 if there is no jackpot winner. Hot Lotto has an optional feature called Sizzler (which is played like Powerball's PowerPlay) for an additional $1 which has an automatic 3x muliplier for all prizes except the jackpot.
Powerball (multi-lottery game)

Since 1988, the D.C. Lottery has been a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), which created Powerball in 1992. Powerball's jackpots currently start at $20 million. It is drawn Wednesday and Saturday nights at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. On October 13, 2009 the "Mega Millions consortium and Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) have reached an agreement in principle to cross-sell Mega Millions and Powerball in all U.S. lottery jurisdictions."
Mega Millions (multi-lottery game)

Beginning January 31, 2010, a total of 35 of the 45 lotteries currently with either Mega Millions or Powerball are expected to simultaneously offer both games. The D.C. Lottery will be allowed to add Mega Millions to its lineup that already includes Powerball. It is not known when the D.C. Lottery will join Mega Millions.
