D&M Holdings manages a portfolio of companies that manufacture high-end audio, video, and home theater equipment. Its subsidiaries include Denon Electronics, Marantz Japan, and McIntosh Laboratory. Digital Networks North America (DNNA), also a subsidiary of D&M, manages digital home electronics divisions, including Rio (MP3 players) and Escient (digital convergence products). Other brands owned by the company include Boston Acoustics (loudspeakers), Snell Acoustics (speakers), and Denon DJ (MP3 players). Founded in 2002, D&M Holdings was acquired by the US investment firm Bain Capital Partners for about $460 million in 2008.
