Dalmatian coast

Geography Dictionary: Dalmatian coast

Also known as a Pacific, or concordant coast, this is a drowned seashore with the main relief trends running more or less parallel with the coastline, named after the Adriatic coast from Split to Dubrovnik. The old mountain peaks appear as islands above the flooded valleys. Compare with Atlantic-type coast.
