Dan Guerrero (born on November 10, 1951 in Tucson, AZ) is the athletic director for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).[1] He is currently serving on the Selection Committee for the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, and will take over as chairman in 2010.

During his six years at UCLA, the Bruins have won 17 NCAA team titles (the highest total in the nation in that span) in 11 different sports, finished second 13 times and have had an additional 22 Top Five finishes. Additionally, of the 138 possible teams, 113 teams have qualified for NCAA post-season competition and the football team has appeared in six bowl games.

Prior to his current position, Guerrero was athletic director at UC Irvine (1992-2002) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (1988-92).

Education

Guerrero received his Bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1974 on a baseball scholarship as a second baseman, known as "Warrior" during his playing career. He earned a Master's degree in Public Administration in 1982 from Cal State Dominguez Hills, where he was named to the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for Public Affairs and Public Policy.

Personal life

Guerrero, who was raised in Wilmington, CA, is married to the former Anne Marie Aniello. Their two grown daughters are Jenna and Katie.
