Biography

The brother of actor/singer Art Jarrett, American actor/director Daniel Jarrett first showed up onscreen in the pre-WW I era. By the 1920s, Jarrett had left acting behind to concentrate on screenwriting. From 1930 to 1938, he scripted several George O'Brien westerns, including 1938's Rawhide, in which O'Brien shared center stage with baseball legend Lou Gehrig. In 1935, Daniel Jarrett made a brief return before the cameras playing a character based on himself in O'Brien's The Cowboy Millionaire (1935). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
