Danny (Ezra) Adlerman

Danny Adlerman once told Something about the Author: "Next to my wife and children, writing and making music are the most gratifying aspects of my life. Artistically, I feel we have many phases. People cannot traverse to the next level until they have made at least a self-satisfying contribution to the area in which they started. I know I have some novels and adult nonfiction inside me, but I also know that I have not yet finished writing picture books.

"For example, I've been writing from the time I was a very young child. In fourth grade, it was poetry. In sixth and seventh grades, I was writing comedy bits and sketches with friends. Early in high school I discovered dialects. By the end of my high school career, college, and beyond, I wrote songs almost exclusively. It is hard for me to imagine tackling any of these categories unless I was satisfied that I had at least contributed something significant to the phase immediately preceding it.

"As for inspiration, look around you. It's everywhere. Writing picture books feels natural to me, perhaps because my life is very much like a fairy tale. In all capacities—business, life, love, family, and books—my partner is my best friend. In my estimation, it would take hard work to become uninspired!"
