Dario Plevnik is a composer and guitar player from Osijek, Croatia. He is 37 years old and has been playing and composing music since age 10.
His instrumentals are a unique combination[citation needed] of electric Gipson guitar and tamburitza, a Croatian autochthonous instrument. He plays a combination of ethno, rock, jazz and classical music. He has many instrumentals without tamburitza (film music). He published five CDs and thirteen music videos in Croatia. He has privately recorded 30 other instrumentals. His copyrights are protected by the Swiss copright agency SUISA. Plevnik is not currently under contract with any publisher, and has exclusive copyrights for his music.
In 2001, his instrumental "Darija", dedicated to his wife, was published on the compilation CD The Chrisanne collections IV along with artists such as Henry Mancini , James Galway , Pedro Garcia, Alma Cogan, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Cherry Poppin' Daddies,The Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra, etc.
His instrumental song "Slavonian Horses" was a great success at international folk festivals Euromusica 2002 in Sopron, Hungary and Eisenstadt, Austria. "I can" was chosen to represent Croatian Olympic Team at the 2004 Summer Paralympics. in Athens.
