Dave Hansen (born December 18, 1947) is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 30th District since 2001.
Hansen was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 1971 and married his wife, Jane, in the same year. They have three children.
Before being elected to public office, he was a truck driver for the City of Green Bay as well as a school teacher[1]
Hansen served on the Board of Supervisors for Brown County from 1996 to 2002. In November 2000, he was elected to the state senate and was re-elected in 2004.
Hansen has served as the Assistant Democratic Minority Leader for the Wisconsin State Senate since 2003.
Senator Hansen was up for re-election in 2008. He defeated his challenger, Chad Fradette, a former Green Bay alderman, with 66% of votes.
