David M. Nonis (born May 25, 1966, Burnaby, British Columbia) is a Canadian former ice hockey player and is current the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks, a National Hockey League franchise.

He is the cousin of the sportscaster Darren Dreger of TSN.

Player

Nonis played NCAA College Hockey in the United States at the University of Maine, collecting 14 goals and 78 points in 153 games from 1984 through 1988. Nonis spent his final two years for the Bears as team captain, leading the University of Maine team to back to back NCAA championship tournaments. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988. Following this, Nonis played 1 year of professional hockey in Denmark and in 1989 returned to the University of Maine, moving behind the bench as an assistant coach.

General Manager

Nonis replaced Brian Burke as the Canucks' general manager in 2004. Prior to this, he spent six years as Senior Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations for the franchise.
