Dave Riley (born in Northfork, West Virginia) was an American football running back for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Collegiate career

Riley came on to the Mountaineers squad at West Virginia University in 1975. Riley only contributed on special teams as a freshman, recording 8 tackles and recovering a fumble.

In 1976, Riley saw limited time at running back. He rushed for 215 yards and a touchdown on only 50 carries while seeing only limited time behind starter Dwayne Woods.

In his final college season, 1977, Riley earned the starting role at running back. Riley rushed for 616 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season. He also caught 20 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown.
