David Bell is Permanent Secretary at the British Department for Children, Schools and Families. He took up his post on 3 January 2006. He was previously Chief Inspector of Schools at the Office for Standards in Education. Mentioned in HANSARD [1] He succeeded Sir David Normington on his move to succeed Sir John Gieve as Permanent Secretary at the Home Office.
