Ballet dancer turned popular actor David Davenport was best known for his work on the London stage, but he also appeared occasionally in feature films and on television. Born on Boxing Day in Fairhill, England, he took up ballet as a teen and, in 1938, joined the Lydia Kysht Russian Ballet in London. He was a well-established theatrical figure by the time he made his film debut in It Takes a Thief (1959). The distinguished-looking Davenport's television credits include a recurring role in the popular British series All Creatures Great and Small. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
