David E. Brown was the mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia. He was elected in 2004 to City Council. Brown graduated from the University of Virginia in 1977 with a BA in History. He also graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. Brown returned to Charlottesville in 1982 to start a Chiropractic practice, which he has maintained since. Brown is active in the Charlottesville community, is a youth soccer coach and was the coordinator for the Soccer Outreach Program, making soccer available to children from public housing.
Brown is married to Jean Hiatt, and they have two sons, Gregory and Evans. Gregory graduated in 2008 from Earlham College in Indiana with a major in economics and now lives in Philadelphia. Evans is currently double majoring in film studies and biology at Macalester College.
