David Kahne (pronounced "con") is an American record producer. Kahne is notable for his role as in-house producer and engineer at 415 Records, the first American New Wave label, and for his subsequent roles as Vice President of A&R at Columbia Records and Warner Bros. Records. He produced MTV Unplugged: Tony Bennett, the 1995 Grammy Award winner for Album of the Year.[1] Other artists Kahne has produced include Paul McCartney, Fishbone, Sublime, The Strokes, Sugar Ray, The Bangles, Stevie Nicks and Regina Spektor. [2] He also worked with Linkin Park on some of their earlier studio work after signing with Warner.
Kahne also designed Fishbone's widely-recognized logo, which he created with MacPaint on an early model Apple Macintosh. Recently he has been working with Taking Back Sunday on their upcoming studio album scheduled for a 2009 release, and Mike Doughty's single "(You Should Be) Doubly (Gratified)."
