Early life

Prager first got into computers at a young age. He became the SysOp of his own computer Bulletin Board System in 1989. Prager graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a degree in Communication and Media Studies.

Career

Prager's first job after school was as a network administrator for the software company, Bowne Litigation Solutions based in San Antonio, Texas.

Prager was hired by ZDTV in 1999. He worked as a broadcast television producer, technology writer, and journalist in his time with ZDTV and TechTV.

On March 25, 2004, Comcast's G4 gaming channel announced a merger with TechTV. This move became hugely controversial among loyal fans of TechTV. Around May 6, G4 announced the termination of 250 employees from the San Francisco office by July 10, 2004, allowing approximately 80 to 100 employees to transition to G4's main office in Los Angeles, California if they agreed to relocate there.[3] Prager chose to stay with G4 and subsequently moved to Los Angeles.

Prager remained as a segment producer for the nightly G4techTV technology show The Screen Savers. Later, the show would switch gears, becoming the variety show Attack of the Show!. Prager left G4 in the spring of 2005.

Prager is an occasional participant on This Week in Tech, a podcast hosted by the popular TechTV personality, Leo Laporte.

Prager is one of the founders of Revision3. Prager is currently the Vice President of Special Projects for Revision3. He also helps out with Diggnation, the weekly podcast/vidcast about the social bookmarking news and technology website Digg.com. The hosts Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht often speak with him or ask questions during tapings of the show. In the show Prager has been given many nicknames such as "The Impraganater", "Pragers Hen House" and "Pragerpedia".[4]

Prager made headlines in 2009 after his controversial decision to Ustream an intruder in his house, instead of calling the police.[5][6]
