David Wright (born 22 December 1966, Oakengates, Telford) is a politician in the United Kingdom, and Labour Party member of Parliament for Telford. He has been an MP since 2001.
Early life
He went to Wrockwardine Wood Comprehensive School on New Road in Telford then New College, Telford. At Wolverhampton Polytechnic he did a degree in Humanities. He worked in the regeneration of Sandwell for thirteen years.
Wright was a Town Councillor in Oakengates 1989-2000 and a Wrekin District Councillor from 1989-97.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Personal life
He married Lesley in 1990.
