Day of the Dead is the 2007 horror film remake of George A. Romero's classic zombie film of the same name, the third in Romero's Dead series. The film is directed by Steve Miner (who also directed Friday the 13th Part 2, Friday the 13th Part 3 and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later) and written by Jeffrey Reddick. It is set to be released in the United States sometime in 2007. It is definitely scheduled for release in the Netherlands 2007-11-15.[1]

Plot

Bloody-disgusting.com states:

the film is a typical zombie film, virus infects town, people start biting each other, virus spreads by the bites, and a handful of survivors try to make it out of town alive. In this one the military is brought in to enforce a quarantine on the small town of Leadville, CO because of the mysterious virus. Once they realize the virus eventually makes people start ravenously attacking each other, it's too late... EXCEPT for a few.[2]

According to Reddick, this film does not have any connection to Zack Snyder's 2004 remake Dawn of the Dead. Reddick told ComingSoon.net:

It's going to be a separate movie, he told us. We wanted to pay homage to the original with the military and the scientists and the socially relevant stuff that George Romero always does, but we wanted to put a fresh spin on it. There will be similarities, but there'll be differences as well that I think fans will hopefully dig. Steve Miner (Friday the 13th Part 2) is directing, which I'm really excited about.[3]
