Modern dance work in one act with choreography by Humphrey and music by Copland. Premiered 10 May 1947 at Beaver County Day School, Massachusetts, by Jose Limón Dance Company with Limón. Set to Copland's 1941 Piano Sonata, it evokes the human cycle of work, love, marriage, death, and birth.
