De nātūra deorum (‘on the nature of the gods’), philosophical dialogue in three books by Cicero, written in 45 BC after the death of his daughter, in which he sets out the theological tenets of the three principal Greek schools of philosophy in his day, the Epicurean, Stoic, and Academic. The work is addressed to M. Brutus. (See CICERO (1) 5.)
