Biography
Formed in 2005 from the ashes of brisbane band Ochre which featured 3 of the same members, Dead Letter Circus have released one self-titled EP, and one 3-track EP entitled Next in Line. On this EP, the digital version includes a fourth track, titled "Inferiority Complex", which is a remix of "Disconnect and Apply", as done by Melbourne band Mammal. They have performed at festivals such as The Big Day Out, The Come Together Music Festival in Sydney and The Over-Cranked Music Festival in Brisbane. They have performed with a number of bands, some of these include Judas Priest, Cog, Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect, Chevelle and Helmet. They also tour Australia extensively on their own headline tours. They recently opened for metal legends Judas Priest on the Brisbane leg of their Australian "Priest Feast" tour.
On the 30th of October, 2008, Dead Letter Circus began their 'Next in Line' tour to coincide with the release of the EP, playing primarily with Australian bands Melodyssey and Rook. As part of this tour they performed at Coffs Harbour's Open Arms Festival in NSW on the 29th of November, 2008. The band toured with The Butterfly Effect On their 'Final Conversation Tour'.
On the 4th of September 2009, Dead Letter Circus released the single "The Space on the Wall", supported by a national tour with guest bands Sydonia and Many Machines on Nine[1], including new songs from the upcoming album in the set. The band intends to release their new album in May 2010.[citation needed]
Following a showcase at Musexpo, Dead Letter Circus signed with major label Warner Bros. Records in Australia and New Zealand. Dead Letter Circus is scheduled to tour in Australia and North America in the coming months.[when?][2]
