Dealer (TAX)

 

One who buys and sells for his or her own account. The merchandise is Inventory consequently any gain on the sale is Ordinary Income.
Example: Davis purchases mobile homes from several manufacturers, and sells them to her customers. Davis is a dealer and all gains from sales are ordinary income.
