Dealgnait, Dealgnat, Delgnat, Dalny, Elgnat
The wife of Partholón whose affair with the slave Todga (or Topa) introduced adultery into Ireland. Dealgnaid seduced Todga while her husband was away hunting. In some versions the husband is predictably furious when he discovers the deception. In another, Todga placates him with a verse, saying that she should not have been presented with such temptation.
