Biography

Put together by manager and executive producer Anthony "T.A." Tate (Ciara, Teairra Mari, J. Holiday), the Atlanta-based Dear Jayne are a female R&B trio: Ashlee (originally from Los Angeles), Jasmine (originally from Florida), and Lindsey (originally from Atlanta). "Talkin' 'Bout Himself," their debut single, generated a little buzz during the summer of 2007, but they fully arrived with the Carlos McKinney-produced "Rain," a single that debuted on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart the following January. Dear Jayne's first album, Voice Message, was scheduled for March 2008 release on Capitol. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

History

Based in Atlanta, the trio consists of Ashley, 22, Jasmine, 22, and Lindsey, 19 [1]. The group was assembled by Anthony Tate, a manager and producer who also worked with Ciara, Teairra Mari and J. Holiday.[2][1] Ashley is from Los Angeles' Crenshaw district; Jasmine is from Cocoa Beach, Florida; Lindsey is from Atlanta’s College Park district. Dear Jayne's lead single, "Rain", was produced by Carlos McKinney, who previously worked on J. Holiday’s “Bed[1]; the single reached the Billboard R&B charts in January 2008.[2] Rain has been called an answer record to Rihanna's "Umbrella".[3] Lindsey has now left the group and has been replaced by singer Erica Rivera. Their current single is called "Feelin on My A" and features rapper Flo Rida.
